RAP Training consists of three 1 day programs and one half day program:

  • RAP-A
  • RAP-P
  • RAP-P Indigenous
  • RAP-A-ASD

Although it is possible to train in either RAP-A or RAP-P only, previous participants have found it useful to complete training in both RAP-A and RAP-P, so we encourage you to register for both days if possible. Please note there is a discount if you register for both days. To train in RAP-A-ASD it is a requirement that you have attended a RAP-A training day.

The role of group leader is critical to the effectiveness of the RAP program. Group leaders need to be educational or mental health workers with specific training in the facilitation of RAP groups. The following people may be suitable for facilitating the RAP programs.

  • Psychologists/ Social workers / Occupational therapists / Psychiatrists / Mental Health Nurses
  • School counsellors/ Guidance officers/Chaplains
  • Teachers
  • Community workers

Previous participants have found that their training was enhanced by prior perusal of the program. If you purchase a Group Leader's Manual at the time of registration, a copy will be sent to you with your confirmation of enrolment.

Training events are offered at regular intervals in Brisbane and Sydney, and throughout Australia on request. Individual or small group training is available via video conferencing for overseas consumers. Click on the Training Calendar link above for details of upcoming courses.

The RAP team travels to alternative locations to provide training. To date, the team has travelled to all Australian states and territories, as well as to New Zealand, South Africa, Korea, the U.S.A.and parts of Europe to provide training.
